Mask on Aloe, Saturated on Photoshop

Hard to tell the antiquity of this ceramic mask and the damage that has been done to it. It is glazed ceramic (not these colors). It is oxidation fired with a clear glaze over yellow and black underglazes over a buff, cone five clay. I made a clay core mold, molded a thin slab of clay over it, modeled the features then did an intaglio design, later filled with underglaze colors.
The facial image has been derived from the features of a person that was once in my life. The design seems to reflect more of the future of my life than the past. I had totally explained, to my classes about the significance of masks, which I later realized in a more "life and death" actuation of the Mask "reality."
